About Dr. Cohen |
Eric Cohen, MD, is a board certified otolaryngologist who has been associated with the Head and Neck Surgical Group since 1996. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins Medical School with Alpha Omega Alpha honors in 1991. His residency training was performed at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has completed a fellowship in laryngology/neurolaryngology with Dr. Andrew Blitzer which emphasized the diagnosis and treatment of voice and swallowing disorders.Dr. Cohen's training has exposed him to world leaders in many aspects of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. His particular interests include voice and swallowing disorders, nasal and sinus surgery, head and neck surgery, and laser surgery. However, he is qualified and eager to see any patient with symptoms or disorders related to the specialty.Dr. Cohen's academic pursuits include the training of the otolaryngology residents of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and the publishing of multiple journal articles and book chapters. His research has been presented at national and international meetings. He is currently working with the Neurolaryngology Subcommittee of the American Academy of Otolaryngology to develop formalize guidelines for the use of Botox? toxin in the treatment of spasmodic dysphonia.Dr. Cohen is on the attending staff of St. Luke's - Roosevelt Medical Center, serving as Director of Clinics for the Department of Otolaryngology. He is also a faculty member of the New York Center for Voice and Swallowing Disorders. |
