THE DENTAL SOLUTION TO SNORING AND SLEEP APNEA

Dr. Silk has been practicing in Solon since 1984. Over the years he has received continuing education and training in sleep disordered breathing and has become much more aware of the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea and how CPAP and oral devices can help many more patients with their problems. He works closely with his patients and their physicians to help guide them to appropriate treatment (CPAP, oral devices, surgery, etc.) while following guidelines laid down by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s (AASM) position paper on the parameters for use of oral devices in the treatment of OSA, updated 2015. It states that oral devices may be used as a first line of therapy for patients with mild to moderate OSA as well as for patients who are severe and have failed CPAP therapy or prefer them to CPAP. He keeps in constant communication with physicians regarding their patients.

He has many patients who have been happily and successfully treated with Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) Therapy when appropriately diagnosed and screened for this treatment modality.
His office is a registered, certified Medicare Provider of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) of which the MAD is included into this category.

He works with most insurances and Medicare to minimize the patient’s out of pocket expense.

He strives to adhere with each physician’s protocols regarding the treatment of each of their patients.
