About us  

The best part of my job is interacting with all the patients, from the very young to the young at heart. These people are my extended family. I never dread coming to work, but instead am having the time of my life!

Education and Continuing Education

In order to become a dentist, I attained the following certificates:

• Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Minnesota, 1977
• Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Minnesota, 1981

For the past 29 years, I have taken many continuing education courses every year to stay up to date on the latest innovations. These emerging techniques positively affect people's dental health and how it relates to overall health. Everything I bring back from an educational experience helps to make things easier and more comfortable for our patients' dental visits, and also helps our patients live healthier lives.

In the Office

Our team is serious about taking care of people's health, but we also have a lot of fun! We spend a lot of time in our office, and it would be sad if we had to be stiff and all business. We love to have a good time and interact with the people we treat. If we are having a good time at work, it also helps our patients feel relaxed!

My team loves to interact with each unique patient. We love to joke around to put our patients at ease while they are here. Our long-term patients make my job especially rewarding. It's great to see kids grow up and explore the world, hear about trips that people take, and learn about what their kids or grandkids are doing, whether it is involvement in sports, weddings or new careers!

Family and Community

I am a native of Monticello, Minnesota, and have lived in Woodbury for the past 18 years. My wife of 30 years, Dawn, and I have two children: a daughter named Emily and a son, Erik. In my spare time, I enjoy walking, reading, cooking, dining out, and travel. I am also a certified scifi geek, and love Star Wars and Star Trek!

My community is important to me. I am involved with my church's long-range planning committee, and I sing in both the men's choir and full choir. For the last four years, I sponsored a child through Friends of Africa, and have been involved in Give-kids-a-smile for the last seven years. I have also served over 20 years on the Century College Dental Assisting advisory board.
