About us
Dr. Bishop is originally from Arizona where he graduated with honors from the University of Arizona with a dual degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology. He then attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1981.
He has been in Boulder since 1983 and continues to love what he does. A life-long student, Dr. Bishop has always stayed abreast of the latest in Dental Techniques, and attends 50-100 hours of continuing education each year. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and recently completed a residency in placing dental implants. His office strives to stay abreast of the changes in dental techniques and technologies.

Dr. Bishop was a ski bum in a previous life and is still very active in the outdoors. His hobbies are hiking, biking, fly-fishing, playing golf and whitewater rafting. (He rowed his own boat down the Grand Canyon a couple of years ago for his 50th.)
Dr. Bishop is a member of the American and Colorado Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, The Nature Conservancy and Trout Unlimited. (He is a past president of the Boulder Flycasters of TU.)
He lives in Boulder near Chautauqua Park with his wife and partner, Dr. Susan Takemoto, and their two English Cocker spaniels, Kalai and Kaika.

Dr. Bishop has been our family dentist for over 20 years. There has never been an instance in which we were not completely satisfied with the services and staff. I recommend him to my friends, family and co-workers. My husband and I have three sons and his staff has been cleaning their teeth since they were young children.
One of our sons recently chipped his front tooth and I was able to get an appointment the same day. His staff is always friendly and they make kids feel comfortable and at ease when their teeth need to be worked on. The front desk staff is very helpful in answering insurance and billing questions. They have all of our family’s dental records on their computer database. This makes it easy to know which dental services are due and which ones are coming up within the year.
