About us

Joshua Elliss, DMD

During his undergraduate studies at Dixie State College – St. George and Utah State College, Josh Elliss was awarded the Dr. Barnum Research award and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Elliss then attended the University of Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine; he was also an extern at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, where he was exposed to modern cosmetic and occlusion techniques. Upon graduation from UNLV, he was awarded the Quintessence Award for his research during school and the Outstanding Student Award from the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. After schooling, Dr. Ellis practiced in Dallas, Texas, prior to moving his family to Las Cruces.

“Growing up in a small town next to Zion’s National Park in southern Utah, I cultivated a love for outdoors and hiking at an early age. I am grateful to now look out my window every day and see the beautiful Organ Mountains so close by. Las Cruces is a unique and diverse place and my family feels at home here.”

Dr. Elliss is currently involved in local cub scouts and enjoys being a supporter of NMSU athletics and student organizations.

I am so appreciative for the wonderful care I have received at Hillrise Dental. I have already referred your office to the new Colonel and his family at White Sands Missile Range, who are looking for a new dentist since they just moved to Las Cruces. My only disappointment is with the lab which was making my dentures. Dr. Straley has been wonderful, I know it is not his fault that the lab keeps messing up my top denture. I can not say enough how wonderful the staff at Hillrise Dental is. From Cindy and Renee always making me feeling welcome. Getting hello's from Dr. Ellis even though he is not my dentist. And I just don't know what I would do, if it was not for Ashley, she has always made me feel comfortable. You have a wonderful and caring staff. Your office is an example of what customer service means. It is a refreshing change not to be treated as a number but a person. I actually look forward to going to the dentist!

Excellent, efficient, friendly, and courteous service from check-in to check-out. Dr. explains alternatives to recommended procedures. Hygienists are friendly and knowledgeable. Front desk explains, costs, insurance, etc., clearly. Wait-time is usually negligible.

courteous and not to mention, professional. We did a walk- in, when my husband was in dire need of a good, honest and proffessional dental practice. " Bingo" we found the right place!
