What our patients say

I considered cosmetic dentistry for a long time to improve my smile... Having now completed the procedures with Dr. Hovden and his team, I am wishing that I had not waited so long! The whole process was easy and painless, and I could not be happier with the results, which easily exceeded my expectations. For the first time in memory, my teeth aren't too small for my mouth, and I really like my smile! Not surprisingly, I seem to be smiling a lot more, and thoroughly enjoying the view in the mirror. Dr. Hovden is clearly a consummate professional who enjoys his work and brought all his considerable skills and artistry to bear on my smile. — Arch

I am very happy because Dr. Hovden and his team did a great job. They gave the pleasure to smile and to laugh without fear that somebody will see my teeth.

Thank you Dr. Hovden! Thank you Andrea and Colleen. Thank all of you for the renewal of my confidence in myself.” — Larisa

I am 62 years old and I have worn dentures since I was 28. Recently, I had a dental implant procedure and for the first time in all of those years, I feel like my teeth are natural. I am very pleased with the results. Also, the implants procedure, for the most part, was relatively with little pain or discomfort.

I found Dr. Hovden and his staff to be very professional, helpful and accommodating.
 — Maria

I am very happy with the work you have done. The veneers on the upper teeth are beautiful. You are a true professional and a cosmetic dentistry artist. You deserve all the recognition you have received. — Richard

I have to start by saying how amazed I am at the amount of trust and confidence Dr. Hovden and his team have been able to instill in me over the past several years. If you looked in the dictionary under Dental Phobia you would certainly have found my picture. I can now readily admit that I no longer fear going to or even hearing the word dentist.

When I began discussing my treatment it seemed like a never ending task and I had great doubt as to whether or not I could even follow through with our plans. It is amazing how quickly it all came together and how much we have accomplished.

The concept of a team approach to understand and address my entire dental program was instrumental to this success. The team; Dr. Ken Hovden and Dr. Robert Lamb addressing Dental Restoration and Implants, Dr. Caren Hovden handling Orthodontics, Dr. Kasey Li for major Orthognathic Surgery, Dr. Terri Homer my initial Dental Anesthesiologist, and my wife Barbra for incredible support, made this process a tremendous success. It was this holistic approach that I credit not only for saving my life but also for making it possible for me to follow through with routine dental care.

The communication, trust, empathy and caring that developed among this team made a difficult and lengthy process a huge success and has made a major change in my life. I can now eat, sleep and function in a much healthier fashion and can enjoy some of the simple pleasures of life that had eluded me for many years. I thank each and every one of the team for their professional and personal attention and care.

Service we offer

  • Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry

By masterfully recontouring your mouth, a wonderful smile can emerge. Using advanced cosmetic dentistry techniques, we can quickly reshape and reposition teeth to correct crooked, chipped, cracked and overlapping teeth. > More about Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry
  • Dental Implants

Today, a revolutionary alternative to dentures is a dental implant. To fill the gap from a missing tooth, we place a permanent anchor down into the gum and then securely place a beautiful replica (a crown) of the original tooth on top. > More about Dental Implants
  • Porcelain Veneers

Placing porcelain veneers on discolored, chipped or uneven teeth is a great way to create a natural beautiful smile. You can count on the fact that veneer laminates are typically long lasting, ultra thin and custom designed to perfectly fit your teeth. > More about Porcelain Veneers
  • Prepless Veneers

Prepless veneers are custom-made, ultra-thin shells used to cover the surface of your teeth. Dental veneers can be used to cover worn, chipped, or cracked teeth, and can even be used to improve the appearance of your teeth alignment. Unlike traditional veneers, prepless veneers do not require removing healthy tooth enamel to provide room for veneers. Patients get a bright smile with custom-shaped teeth that look and feel natural with a less invasive procedure. > More about Prepless Veneers

  • OTHER SERVICES

  • Microscopic Assisted Dentistry

Surgical microscopes are used to create superior dentistry. The use of high magnification assists Dr. Hovden by diagnosing more completely. Cracks and fractures not readily visible to the naked eye can be detected using the surgical microscope. The microscope is used to fabricate restorations providing better aesthetics and durability. Microscope assisted dentistry is just one of the premier instruments used in our office to create superior dentistry. In addition:
    • A Digital x-ray system is used to reduce patient radiation and eliminate additional patient visits for retakes
    • Lasers are used to modify your gums
    • Computerized sensors are used to evaluate and adjust your bite
    • Digital images are used to get precise computerized color matches of your restorations
Not only do you benefit from the use of Microscopic Assisted Dentistry in our office, but you benefit from the expertise and skill Dr. Hovden has from his extensive background. Dr. Hovden is a trained expert in this field, but he also teaches other dentists nationwide the techniques and benefits of using Microscopic Assisted Dentistry.
  • Root Canals

Sometimes teeth don’t age to perfection, and the nerve pulp within them becomes inflamed or infected. The usual plan of action to rescue a tooth in distress and a patient in pain is to perform a root canal. We are experts in root canals: the removal of infected pulp from the inside of a tooth and restoring it afterward with a porcelain crown.
  • Sleep Apnea

Do you snore loudly or suffer from excessive daytime tiredness? Sleep apnea, a disorder in which you literally stop breathing in your sleep, affects about 28 million Americans. There are three types: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), Central Sleep Apnea (CSA) and Mixed Sleep Apnea (MSA), a combination of the two. OSA, the most common and severe, results from a blockage to the airway often caused by the collapse of soft tissue at the rear of throat. Left untreated, sleep apnea can cause serious health problems. A variety of dental appliances can be worn during sleep to keep your airway open. These need to be individually manufactured and fitted by a dental specialist.

Dr. Hovden is part of Oral Sleep Alliance, a network of dentists and physicians dedicated to diagnosing and treating Sleep Apnea. Dr. Hovden has the ability for you to do a take home sleep study and have it interpreted and diagnosed by a network physician who specializes in sleep medicine.
  • Snoring Treatment

Snoring can be more than a noisy annoyance; it can lead to Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), a serious condition that causes a partial or complete reduction of airflow to the lungs. Untreated OSA can lead to fatigue related road accidents, high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke. In addition to lifestyle changes such as exercise and weight loss, dental appliances that reposition the tongue or lower jaw often provide effective sleep apnea and snoring treatment. Twenty five percent of people who snore have OSA, ask us if you suspect you might be one of them.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Care

Every great team has a great quarterback. Dr. Hovden often serves as the primary coordinator when multiple specialties are needed to deliver the best possible results for his patient. From advanced bone grafting techniques, to orthodontics and implant placement Dr. Hovden has assembled an amazing team of talented specialists who work closely together for the collective best interest of their valued patient.
