General Dentistry Procedures

At Image Dental we use the latest in dental technology. Here are some examples of our most popular procedures, treatments and services.

Conscious Sedation - Designed to enhance our ability to work with high fear patients by creating a comfortable environment with which the patient moves toward and through complete treatment. This can be used to complete extensive treatment in one appointment.

Preventive Care - for healthy teeth and gums good oral hygiene habits are critical; we recommend twice daily brushings, regular flossing, periodic appointments with our hygienist for more thorough cleanings and a fluoride treatment, and an examination by one of our dentists to detect potential dental issues at the earliest stage.

Fluoride Treatments - a chemical substance known to strengthen teeth enamel making teeth less susceptible to decay; a topical application is made directly to the surface of the teeth by the dental hygienist.

Periodontal/Gum Treatments - gum disease is the silent killer of teeth since it can loosen them; periodontal treatments are recommended for patients whose gums are bleeding, receding or coming away from the tooth.

Fillings- restoring of lost tooth structure by using materials such as metal, plastic or porcelain; see tooth-coloured fillings.

Root Canals - the process of removing diseased or damaged pulp from a tooth, then filling and sealing the pulp chamber and root canals; a root canal is often a last resort course of treatment before tooth extraction becomes necessary.

Tooth Extractions - the process or act of removing a tooth or tooth parts usually done as an absolute last resort when a tooth is beyond repair.

Dentist-Fitted Mouthguards - device that fits over the teeth to prevent injury to the teeth, mouth or lips; may also refer to a device that prevents tooth grinding.
