Martin B. Crombie, DDS
Dr. Crombie graduated from Harbor High School in 1981. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University in 1985 before graduating cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1989. He returned to Ashtabula that year to join his father, Robert B. Crombie, DDS, in their newly remodeled office. A year later, they were joined in practice by Dr. Martin’s wife, Debra A. Balogh-Crombie, DDS, whom he met in dental school and married in 1990.
Eight years later, continually growing practices allowed for the construction of a state-of-the-art dental office completed in March of 2000. Since dental school, Dr. Crombie has taken substantial postgraduate training in orthodontics, serving for two years as an assistant instructor for international lecturer Dr. Brock Rondeau, helping to train other dentists in straightwire orthodontics and functional appliances. He has also completed intensive training in temporomandibular (TMJ) disorders and orofacial pain through The Institute for Advanced TMJ Studies directed by Dr. Steve Olmos with additional training by Dr. Harold Gelb. He is pleased to provide this treatment to his patients for headaches and TMJ disorders. He also pursues continuing education in general dentistry to stay on the leading edge of his profession.
Dr. Crombie is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Northeast Ohio Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the International Association for Orthodontics. He is past president and current member of Ashtabula Rotary, a 1997 Leadership Ashtabula graduate, and a current board member of The Wellness and Total Learning Center
Debra A. Balogh-Crombie, DDS
Dr. Balogh was raised in Strongsville, Ohio and graduated from Strongsville High School in 1982. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at The University of Toledo in 1986 and was accepted to and graduated from The Ohio State University of Dentistry in 1990. Married in 1990 to Dr. Martin Crombie, their growing practices allowed for the construction of a state-of-the-art dental office completed in March of 2000.
Committed to education, she pursued her postdoctoral orthodontic training through The International Association of Orthodontics in 2000. She was asked and pleased to serve for two years as Assistant Instructor to Dr. Brock Rondeau in Washington, D.C. to help train other dentists in Straightwire Orthodontics and Functional Appliances. In response to her patients’ need for comprehensive treatment, she continued her postdoctoral education by completing intensive training in Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain through The Institute for Advanced TMJ Studies, directed by Dr. Steven Olmos, with additional training by Dr. Harold Gelb. She is pleased to provide this treatment to her patients for headaches and TMJ disorders. The close relationship between orthodontics, TMJ disorders and sleep apnea/breathing disorders led Dr. Balogh to pursue training for the treatment of Dental Sleep Disorders, including snoring and sleep apnea. Because she believes this treatment should be provided according to strict medical and dental guidelines, Dr. Balogh is currently working towards her Diplomat status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. She regularly pursues her Continuing Education in General Dentistry to stay on the leading edge of technology within her profession.
Dr. Balogh is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, International Association of Orthodontics, Ohio Dental Association and Northeast Ohio Dental Society. She has been in the Chairman and Director of the North Coast Dental Study Club since 1997, 15-year member of Ashtabula Rotary, 1996 Leadership Ashtabula graduate, Community Advisory Council member of Ashtabula County Medical Center and an Advisory Board member of Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School.
