About us
I was born in Abilene, Texas in 1948. I spent my elementary school years in the west Texas town of Snyder. That is why I sound a little country. We moved to Fort Worth, Texas when I was in the sixth grade. Other than college in Waco, National Guard active duty in Fort Knox, Kentucky and Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, I’ve lived in Fort Worth ever since.
I found a sweet Arkansas farmer’s daughter in Dallas and we married 32 years ago. My wife Pat was a biologist, got her Master’s in Civil Engineering, did the majority of the child rearing, mentoring and taxi duty and is now a massage therapist and health coach.
Pat has a disarming smile, but a strong spirit. It’s a good thing. It took both of us and Divine Grace to raise what have turned out to be some extraordinary kids. Audrey is 27, married and utilizing her MBA in the recruiting business. South (for Southworth) is 24 and graduated with a degree in architecture. He is now in Dallas and works as a construction engineer for Linbeck.
And that is my personal life: my family. I love the Lord. I love my job. I genuinely enjoy life. I exercise to stay fit and on rare occasion play some golf, go SCUBA diving, ride horses and do a little woodcarving.
Professionally, I am a member of the American Dental Association and Texas Dental Associations and I am active in the Fort Worth District Dental Society. I am a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management and I have been Board Certified as a Naturopathic Physician. I have over 3,000 credit hours of continuing education and continue to learn, teach, write articles and pursue innovative ways to address difficult cases with optimum esthetics.
